Just North of Montezuma are several waterfalls in one place which are popular with the tourists. As you continue going North on the small road that runs next to the beach you will come across many beautiful and mostly deserted beaches. You can continue until you reach Atardecer Dorado restaurant on your right which has a nice terrace area from which to see the ocean. If you turn right there you can follow a road that takes you back to the main road and you can resume your drive toward the popular beaches of Mal Pa í s, Playa del Carmen and Santa Teresa Beach which offers many options for accommodations and many restaurants on the road that parallels the ocean. This is a town sought after by those who want to party, so you will find many young people of various nationalities. The main road there is very dusty so be prepared for that inconvenience, beyond Santa Teresa there are quieter beaches such as Playa Hermosa and Playa Manzanillo among several others.
