Day 9: Sunday - Return to San Jose & Cultural Farewell

Day 10: Sunday - Departure

Morning: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in San Jose. The Hotel Grano de Oro is an excellent upscale option for both a great stay and for excellent dining. Transfer to SJO: Take a pre-arranged transfer, taxi (you could take an Uber but it is not allowed into the airport so you would need to walk about 150 yards) to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) for your departure. Allow ample time for traffic and airport procedures (at least 2-3 hours before your international flight).

Morning: Enjoy a final beach stroll or breakfast in the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area. Transfer back to San Jose: Take a shared or private shuttle or drive back to San Jose (approximately 2.5-3 hours from MA/Quepos). Afternoon (San Jose Deep Dive): National Museum (Museo Nacional de Costa Rica): Housed in a former military barracks, this museum offers a comprehensive look at Costa Rican history and archaeology. Jade Museum (Museo del Jade): Explore one of the largest collections of pre-Columbian jade in the Americas. Barrio Amón: Wander through this charming historic neighborhood with its beautiful colonial architecture. Evening: Enjoy a farewell dinner at a nice restaurant in San Jose, with lots of choices all around you in both the upscale Eastside and Westside neighborhoods or get tasty and low-priced food at the many stalls in the Mercado Central.
