Day 7: Friday - Central Pacific Coast: Manuel Antonio Park & Beach
Day 8: Saturday - Manuel Antonio National Park & Wildlife Morning:
Morning: Enjoy breakfast.
Manuel Antonio National Park: Arrive early (the park opens at 7 AM and is closed on Tuesdays, so your Friday arrival and Saturday visit works well) to beat the crowds and maximize wildlife viewing. Highly recommend hiring a certified naturalist guide for the park – they are incredible at spotting camouflaged animals and explaining the ecosystem. Look for sloths, monkeys (capuchin, howler, squirrel), iguanas, and various bird species. Reserve prior! Park Beaches: Enjoy the stunning beaches within the park, such as Playa Manuel Antonio and Playa Espadilla Sur. Note: There are no shops or restaurants inside the park, so bring water and snacks. Afternoon: Relax on the beach or enjoy your hotel's amenities. Optional: Consider a Catamaran Cruise for snorkeling, dolphin spotting, and a beautiful sunset sail (usually departs late afternoon). Evening: Enjoy dinner in Quepos or Manuel Antonio. Lots of options to choose from!
Transfer to Manuel Antonio/Quepos: Take a shared or private shuttle from Jaco beach to Manuel Antonio/Quepos. This will be your shortest travel day (approximately 50 to 60 minutes). Afternoon: Check into your hotel in Manuel Antonio/Quepos. Head to Playa Espadilla Norte (the public beach outside the park) for a relaxing afternoon, swimming, or trying a beginner surf lesson. You can also explore the shops in both Quepos and Manuel Antonio and see the variety of places to eat. Evening: Dinner with ocean views. Either at one of the awesome Hotels in the Manuel Antonio area or from a restaurant at the Marina in Quepos.
