Grecia - Sarchí Sarchí - Naranjo - San Ramón San Ramón - Palmares Palmares

Occidente is a region of towns with excellent climate which are located past the Juan Santamaria International airport as you head North on the Pan American Highway. 20 minutes North of the airport you pass an exit sign to veer off to the right toward the town of Grecia, about 6 minutes past that exit you can take the next exit and head toward Naranjo, the town of Sarch í is located more or less halfway between Grecia and Naranjo and can be reached from either of these two exits, another few minutes later and you can exit to the town of Palmares, and a couple of minutes after that is the exit to San Ram ó n. This is one of the most popular inland areas for both Expats and Ticos who want a more countrified, easy going ambiance but still close to the capital and with plenty of amenities.
