The Nicoya Peninsula is an area of the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica that encompases a variety of impressive beaches and beach towns, each with their own particular flavor. The Peninsula can be reached by road, either by coming from the Liberia area and past the town of Nicoya and onward to the Peninsula or if coming from the San Jos é area you can drive up the Pan American Highway and then veer left toward the Tempisque Friendship Bridge which after crossing and going a few kilometers, leads to a T intersection where you take a left and head toward the Peninsula. Another way is by taking one of two ferry lines that leave from the Port of Puntarenas and head to Paquera and to Playa Naranjo.
