Day 6: Lake Exploration Day with possible stay in the lovely Tico town of Tilarán on the way to your next Costa Rica destination. Take one of the boats from the landing located on the left side just a couple of kilometers past the bridge that overlooks the lake as you work your way around this initial part of the lake or make it a full day trip and enjoy a longer tour around the lake with a stopover on the way at Nuevo Arenal to enjoy the German bakery and then on to the large catamaran docking area at Puerto San Luis which offer a tour of the Arenal Lake. As you head into the Puerto San Luis area you will see some excellent restaurant options on your right which you can enjoy in the late afternoon or early evening. You can also explore the pretty Tico town of Tronadora and its surrounding area, which includes some impressive homes and estates and lots of lake views. You also have the option to spend a night in the quaint and lovely Tico town of Tilarán at one of several modest but very nice hotels or at one of the Airbnb´s offered in the area. The town is easily explored on foot, and you can check out several very good restaurant choices. Staying here is a good option as you can just head out of town the next day and take the road that goes to Monteverde and continue your Costa Rica vacation there!
